After hearing about MBT from a friend who was very successful with the program I decided to give MBT a shot. I'm naturally skeptical but because my friend was able to lose 45 pounds with MBT I felt hopeful.

Like many moms, I had gained weight throughout the years and I hated it. I felt frustrated that I was not able to successfully take it off on my own. I'd try every few months. I'd lose some weight but then always revert back to my old self over and over again. Each time I'd tell myself, "This is it!"

If only it was so easy.

It was a vicious cycle that went from feeling motivated to happy with my initial results to deprived to completely burned out within a matter of weeks (because I was relying entirely on willpower and restriction) to defeated to disgusted because I'd gain all the weight back (and them some) to motivated all over again a few months later. The cycle continued for years!

Not only did I feel defeated in my weight loss efforts but I felt overworked, overwhelmed and tired all the time, which led me to overeat and gain even more weight.

I also feel a lot more in control now. I feel less stressed and way more energized. I can easily keep up with my kids.

MBT isn't about what you can't eat. It's about what you can eat. We talked about my negotiables and non-negotiables and figured out a way to incorporate those into my eating.

The diet I followed and still follow is very practical and sustainable. In fact, it doesn't feel like a diet! It's just how I live now and it feels effortless. The biggest difference is that every other diet I've been on gets harder with time. This was the only 'diet' that got easier with time.

In the past I relied on solely on willpower, restriction and just trying harder. As I've learned, it's not about trying harder or having more willpower. It's about having a diet and exercise plan you can actually stick with, learning the right psychology and mindset around food and having daily accountability. This combo makes the program unlike anything I've tried and it's why it works so well.
