If Mary can do it with MyBodyTutor you can too. Yes, YOU! (No, we're not yelling. We just really believe in what we do.)
I was a chronic binge eater. I was super strict Monday to Thursday but lost all control Friday to Sunday. On weekends, I could eat my whole pantry. I was scared of eating out and celebrating life, and I was fearful of food and treats.
All the diets I tried in the past left me feeling broken and weak and hating that I could not stick with anything. It was a terrifying state of mind to be in.
I was constantly obsessed with food and exercise. I was hungry a lot and grumpy and emotional. Unfortunately, I took it out a lot on my loved ones. I was not a fun person to be around because you would not know when I would blow up. When little things out of my control would happen, I would get really emotional.
I had tried Keto, Atkins, intermittent fasting, low fat, and calorie and macro counting. But these "diets" had so many rules and would not work for me in real-life situations, like social outings, birthday parties, or traveling. They involve fears and rigid rules, and they ultimately made me believe that it was MY fault and that I was broken for not sticking with the plan.
I found MyBodyTutor when I talked to my best friend about how I felt uncomfortable when a friend gave me the guilt trip for not eating cake at a party. My best friend sent me an article from MyBodyTutor titled "5 Ways To Deal With Diet Saboteurs" that resonated with me, so I started reading all the other blog posts and signed up for the newsletter.
I read the testimonials and success stories and felt inspired. But it was only after a year of trying to do it on my own and realizing I needed help sticking to my goals that I decided to join.
Before joining, I was worried about a lot of things, like the fear of the unknown, the fear of change, and the fear I would fail again. I was also worried about the cost. But looking back, it is funny how "cheap" I was with my health and wellbeing when joining ended up being the best investment I've ever made in my life!
After losing 18 pounds with MyBodyTutor, I feel very free from the cycle of dieting and limiting beliefs I imposed on myself. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I am really living.
I love myself again, and since I speak kindly to myself when I stumble, I'm able to get back on track right away. I learned we are all humans and make mistakes. I'm not broken. My binge eating was simply a bad habit that I needed to stop. It does not define me.
I learned to be powerful in my choices. I learned that success doesn't mean restricting yourself or eating only "clean" diet-approved food.
I am now very excited to go out to eat with friends and loved ones and experience delicious foods because no food is off-limits. I'm very confident I can choose whatever I want to eat, enjoy it with no guilt and be satisfied.
Thanks to my Tutor, I now have the tools I need. I can include my favorite food such as cereal, pizza, sushi, and ramen and still feel good, which is very freeing!
Most importantly, my relationship with my loved ones has also improved. They see me happy, calm, relaxed, and confident because I'm not so into myself and feeling stuck anymore.
I can finally enjoy life again to the fullest, and for that, I'm forever grateful.
MyBodyTutor changed my life. I started just wanting to lose weight, thinking I would be happy, but I learned to find myself again in the process, and I'm loving who I am. I got my confidence back and am empowered to make better choices with my nutrition because there is no such thing as being perfect.
This program does not have rules or strict protocols to follow. Working with a tutor that Adam matched me with was a match made in heaven. I never felt judged. The only thing I needed to do was be honest, show up with my reports daily, and be open to suggestions. My Tutor was like a mirror reflecting back at me what I was too blind to see all these years. She spoke kindly, celebrated my successes with me, and helped troubleshoot in areas where I tend to struggle, especially on the weekends.
When I binged, she asked me what I was doing and feeling. And that led me to notice that I didn't seem to eat enough or had too long of a gap between meals, which left me hungry.
Eating in front of the TV was a big reason I binged. But instead of telling me to give up television, she gave me suggestions to work around this bad habit. We worked on habit change until something would stick. And that took a lot of trial and error because, ultimately, everyone is different. What works for me might not work for other people.
She encouraged me to add variety to my meals and not be afraid of food and eating out. Most importantly, I learned that I always have a CHOICE, and I'm powerful enough to make better choices.
The process takes time, and there were a lot of struggles where my old habits of overeating would come back, but having someone there to cheer me on and offer a helping hand when I stumbled, again and again, made the whole process easier.
The habit of reporting my food has helped me become more mindful of what I'm eating. It actually taught me the most valuable life advice that set me up for success -- to pause and check in with myself. It made me pause before eating and ask if I am really hungry and how I am feeling? I know my Tutor would ask, and I needed a good enough reason and answer.
The habits I have now have created an amazing awareness in me, and they have helped end my eating to numb my feelings (boredom, tiredness, etc.) like I often did in the past.
MyBodyTutor changed my life by teaching me the tools I need to feel good in my body. It will be the best investment anyone can ever make.
What did you say to yourself as you were reading Mary's story?
It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
Here's the best part: I guarantee it or your money back. I sincerely believe in what we offer that much. I know MBT will be the last program you ever do or need.
