If Kaylyn can do it with MBT you can too. Yes, YOU! (No, we're not yelling. We just really believe in what we do.)

1) How did you find out about us?

I searched for programs to help me lose weight and this was one of the first ones to pop up that wasn't just a "miracle program", it seemed like something I could actually do.

2) What have you tried in the past?

I haven't tried many programs because I've always been quite stubborn thinking I can do it on my own. I tried Vshred for a workout program for a bit but got tired of the repetition. I would be all in for about 3 weeks -- I'd workout for an hour minimum a day with no rest days, and then I'd get burnt out and fall out of it again.

3) What was the main reason, doubt or insecurity that was holding you back from signing up?

Before MBT, I kept starting a new workout program but refused to change the way I eat. I have a lot of knowledge about how to workout but I knew nothing about the types of food I should be putting in my body and didn't really care to learn. I thought that if I worked out enough, that would compensate for my eating habits. Really, it was stubbornness and I think a little bit of denial at how much weight I had actually gained that held me back.

The night I actually signed up I had really been hurt by someone close to me and it made me feel like I wasn't enough. I decided that night that I can't change how others see me, but I can change how I see myself, and I was finally committed to spending some time and money to really take care of me.

4) What was life like before you started working with MBT?

My biggest struggle before MBT was my mental state. I was having a lot of hormonal issues with my body that I had never experienced before and it made me feel "crazy" which made me start to doubt a lot of parts of myself. The more I didn't like the way I looked, the more I started to be harsh on every aspect of who I was, the crazier I felt, and the worse I felt about my body, etc. It was a really bad cycle. I really struggled with not giving myself grace, and almost bullying myself because I wasn't where I wanted to be or didn't look how I wanted to look.

5) What were your hopes before joining?

My hopes were obviously to look better, but my true goal was just to feel better. I wanted to balance out my hormones and feel in control again. It had been almost two years since I had some really negative effects from medication that put my body out of balance and I really haven't felt normal since.

6) How is MBT different from the billion other companies out there?

Since I haven't tried a lot of other programs I can't say for sure, but the biggest thing that helped me was having someone who really understood my struggles and could keep me accountable every single day. My tutor really understood the issues I was going through and didn't just tell me workouts to do or foods to eat. She really was like a counselor for me and helped me to work through my everyday feelings that led to the habits I have. The thing that made it something I could actually do was that she didn't want to completely change everything I was doing all at once. It was very gradual to start by taking out a few things that weren't the best and add in a few things that were better. I was even surprised at how I got to have a say in the things I wanted to change out. I wasn't "forced" to eat healthy foods or deprive myself of the foods I love, it was just a balancing act.

7) Where are you now?

I'm no longer so focused on losing weight as much as I am just gaining strength and keeping a good headspace. My mentality has changed COMPLETELY and I feel a world better! Both with how my hormones have balanced out since I started eating healthier, working out more, and just really listening to my body, but also with the way I treat myself. I can motivate myself without being harsh and disliking who I am.

8) Anything else worth sharing?

I am very thankful that I found MyBodyTutor. Because of my stubbornness, I didn't really want anyone in my personal life to know I was looking for outside help to get my weight under control, so having my tutor who I wrote to every day and could talk to on the phone, and not feel like I had to hide any of my feelings and personal issues from, was an incredible feeling. I absolutely loved my tutor and felt so encouraged by our talks and I really looked forward to her feedback every day.

What did you say to yourself as you were reading Kaylyn's story?
It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
Here's the best part: I guarantee it or your money back. I sincerely believe in what we offer that much. I know MBT will be the last program you ever do or need.
