Traci
The first time I thought I was fat, I was nine years old. I wasn't fat, but my parents were on the verge of a divorce, and I channeled that anxiety onto my body. This led to a 40 year battle with my weight, with food, and with the feeling that I was never "enough." It wasn't until I turned 50 years old that I finally realized that it was never about the weight.
My journey to becoming a coach began in 2001 when I was hired by Nightingale Conant to become a personal coach for Brian Tracy. It was there that I learned the value of accountability and consistency in behavioral change. That matched well with what I'd learned in my Master's Degree program in psychology.
But it wasn't until I had a c-section in 2004 that I began to realize the importance of health. I was overweight and the surgery was much harder on me than it should have been. In 2008, my then-husband became ill and developed congestive heart failure. This was more evidence that the difference between a happy life and a miserable one was whether or not you're healthy.
I went on to get certified from the National Institute of Whole Health as a health educator and coach. In 2019, I became a certified personal trainer with the ISSA, with an emphasis on Senior Health.
As a plant-based coach, I'm able to help clients integrate more fruits and vegetables into their diet, easily, whether they are vegetarian or not. But if there's one thing I learned in all of my education and experience, it's this. Being healthy is about so much more than knowing how to eat and exercise. It's about developing good habits, getting at the root issues, and having a support system.
Why I Chose MBT
The reason I chose MBT as a health coach is because they aligned with my values. The program provides the consistency and support that's necessary to make lifelong changes. This isn't a diet, it's a program that helps people change their relationship with food, exercise, their bodies, and their health--forever. The team shares my passion for changing the way we relate to food on a global level and really understands that weight issues aren't the problem, they are the symptom of the problem. I'm here to help you feel good about yourself now, while you are on your journey to health.
