Have you heard the saying "You Can't Pour from an Empty Cup?" It's my favorite.
As a mom, I know how hard it can be to focus on taking care of our own health when we're so busy taking care of everyone else. Getting consistent with fitness, healthy eating, and relaxation can seem nearly impossible when we're trying to keep up with schedules, help with homework, feed everyone, walk the dog, have a career, not to mention enjoy fun time with our family. It all can get overwhelming! I'm here to tell you that taking care of yourself isn't optional, it's essential, and I'm here to help you do it.
Even though I'm a Health & Wellness Coach and Group Fitness Instructor, there have been times when I fell off my healthy routines and had a tough time getting back on track. One of those times was when I experienced a head and neck injury and spent several months recovering from Post Concussion Syndrome. I was only able to do the exercise my Physical Therapist allowed, not what I loved (Zumba® and Cardio kickboxing). There was a lot of takeout food when I didn't feel well enough to cook. I felt guilty, like there were so many things I wasn't getting done and I wasn't being the best I could be for my family. But healing doesn't happen overnight. I had to learn to go a little easier on myself, get rest, do my PT, ask for help, talk about my feelings, and get back to fitness and healthy eating a little at a time. It was a slow process, but I got back to it, and you can too.
I love what I do because I get to help people achieve their health goals one step at a time, so they can feel great and enjoy their lives to the fullest.
